Beckham started his career by playing college football at Louisiana State University for the Tigers.

He caught his first college touchdown in a 47–21 against the West Virginia Mountaineers on September 24, [4]

Beckham helped the Tigers defeat the Georgia Bulldogs 42–10 in the SEC Championship Game. The Tigers would go on to lose 21–0 against the Alabama Crimson Tide in the BCS National Championship game with Beckham earned 38 yards with five receptions.[5]

On October 5, , Beckham made his NFL debut in a 30–20 win against the Atlanta Falcons, scoring his first NFL touchdown in the game.[9]

On November 23, , during a game against the Dallas Cowboys, Beckham made a one-handed catch.
