Doron david sherwin biography Inspired by Romance lyrics reverdies celebrating the return of Spring, the ensemble laReverdie was founded in by two pairs of sisters, all singers and instrumentalists, with the intent of exploring the musical repertoire of Europe from the High Middle Ages to the end of the 14th century. The painstaking attention to authenticity with which laReverdie prepares its programs is only one of the numerous means through which the ensemble strives to communicate the vitality, meaning and unaffected harmony of everything it presents to its audience. A particular attention is given to the wide and mostly unexplored repertoire of "sacred theatre": liturgical dramas and dramatic liturgy, collective representations, manifestations which evoke the religiousness of an age whose echoes are not extinguished yet. The aim is not so much to meticulously catalogue a collection of archaeological relics as it is to faithfully reconstruct the musical heritage of the Middle Ages as a living fragment of a culture long since past but not lost. The ensemble is giving seminars on several repertoires of the music of the Middle Ages in various Italian Institutions, and since teaches in the medioeval section of the XXXV International Course of Ancient Music in Urbino; together with Aliamusica of Parma, under the patronage of the Department of Musicology of the local University, she has instituted and regularly collaborates with an comprehensive project of educational initiatives in the field of early music.

    David sherwin office depot Doron David Sherwin became interested in early music at a very young age, studying various early woodwind instruments before finally specializing in the cornett. Since , he has performed throughout the world as a soloist and as a member or collaborator with numerous early music ensembles, including Hesperion XX, the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, the Clemencic consort, the Taverner Players, Tragicomedia, Ensemble Sonnerie, Capriccio Stravagante and Cantus Colln. He studied cornett at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis under Bruce Dickey, with whom he has performed regularly since in the ensemble Concerto Palatino. Doron is also a member of the Medieval ensemble La Reverdie, in which he is active as a singer and arranger as well. He has collaborated in numerous works written specifically for him by William Kraft, Riccardo Malipiero, Rene Clemencic and other contemporary composers fascinated by the unique timbre and expressive possibilities of the cornett.

    Doron david sherwin biography wikipedia In two pairs of young sisters from Italy Claudia e Livia Caffagni, Elisabetta ed Ella de Mircovich founded the Medieval ensemble LaReverdie : the name, derived from a poetic genre that celebrates the return of Spring, reveals perhaps the principal trait of a group that for 25 years now has captivated audiences and critics alike for the variety in its approach to the vast and varied musical repertoire of the Middle Ages and first Renaissance. Since the famous cornetto player Doron David Sherwin is member of the group, both as player and singer. In Ella de Mircovich, who had led several projects - basically conceived from an anthropological and literary point of view - dealing with a mainly North European repertoire, said farewell to the group: a divorce due to overwhelming artistical disagreements. Presently the ensemble performs in groups from three to fourteen musicians, depending on the repertoire. The deep research, together with the experience achieved thanks to the long and intense activity, have made laReverdie an absolutely unique ensemble, both for the extraordinary enthusiasm they share and communicate to their audiences, as well as for their assured and natural virtuosity in playing and singing.
